At £14 per month it's a real bargain for unlimited use of such a fantastic site and they really want new members to help make the project viable long into the future. With such a great second hand kite market on places such as ebay this extreme sport can be a bit of a bargain compared to others such as snowboarding or paragliding, you could prob get started for £200 if you chose carefully and others are always willing to let you try out their kites too. Although latest new kit and a 'quiver' of kites for different winds sure can add up!

Hi Tom, I came across your blog this week and enjoyed reading your posts and the ethos behind it all. Well done you. One of my interests is greenwood working, knife, axe, adze and lathe work. Something I really enjoy is spooncarving, not sure if you've come across this but there's a huge carving community out there and a large presence on the net. I'm sure it is an activity you would enjoy trying plus rhododendron is very good for greenwood carving. Just a thought. My blog is

Hello again Tom, I was just thinking, your offer of some rhododendron was very kind and I'd love to take you up on it, but what I'd really like is a bit of that sweet chestnut when you finally take it down, if you had some to spare? I'm only in Leicester and often visit family in Birmingham; I'd be more than happy to come across and get some. What are your plans for the wood? I'd love to read a post about it. Hi I used to be a windsurf instructor then took up kitesurfing but had to give up for medical reasons, I kite buggyed for a while then swiched to landboarding, unfortunately I had to give in my driving licence too for medical reasons so am stuck for getting about so easily, I'm currently living in Kidderminster and just starting out again in kite landboarding, I have an ozone access XT 4m and am looking for something bigger and a landboard. I've also been looking at possible areas near by that is not used and ruined by footballers, I've e mailed the local council asking for possible areas to set up a local club, just keeping my fingers crossed now.
